Please make sure that all attendees complete the sign-up sheet that is passed around at each meeting.

  2. Secretary's Report

Last month's meeting minutes were submitted late and will be approved at our next meeting.

  3. Treasurer's Report

Doug Geib could not attend this meeting. Mark Wirkus reported that Mike Wiesbarth will accept our nomination to become the next Treasurer for the Bee Athletic Boosters. He will take over for Doug after the September meeting when Doug completes the year end information.

Mark also reported that our first new turf commitment of $75,000 was paid in March and our next payment of $25,000 is due in September. There is approximately $40,000 still in our account as of August 6th so this payment will be made as scheduled.

  4. Membership Report

Jane reported the following membership status for 2007/2008:

    • New "Team" Members - 15 @ $25 each
    • Red Members - 17 @$60 each
    • Gold Members - 14 @ $100 each
    • Platinum Members - 58 @ $250 each
    • Total membership revenues - $17,045

  5. Team Reports

Jan Romance thanked all Team Representatives for volunteering - nearly all positions are already filled. If anyone else is interested in being a Team Rep, contact Jan to see what is still available.

  6. Athletic Department Reports

Dan reported that Rob Klein will be the new Volleyball coach with Dan Irvin as his assistant.

Sue King is the new girls Golf coach with Greg Roderick as her assistant.

Dan expressed sincere thanks and gratitude to everyone in our communities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights who helped support and complete the turf project. He also reminded us that the field is there for the community and to keep a watchful eye on it to protect from pets or other activities that could damage the field.

The practice field will be seeded during the week of August 15.

The first home football game on the new turf is scheduled for August 24th and will include an introductory thank you ceremony to the community for its support.

  7. Allocation Requests

The Lacrosse team is looking for ideas and support to help fund its needs. Transportation to and from games will be the main cost of participation. The team is trying to build a feeder system to develop younger players in the area to get them ready for their high school competitive years. In order to generate local interest in the sport, a demonstration night may be planned with a fish fry fundraiser in the fall.

We had a brief discussion on how to better track team membership in the BEE Athletic Boosters and to promote more participation from all teams.

There was also a brief discussion to recognize BEE Athletic Booster members on our web site.

  8. BEE Athletic Boosters Projects

Golf Outing - Is ready for a shot-gun start on August 22nd at Sleepy Hollow. We are still looking for hole sponsors to help support this event.

Press Box Sign - Installation was completed, there was a color mis-match and it will be removed and re-painted during August.

Reverse Raffle - The Reverse Raffle Committee needs to meet and discuss options and dates for this annual fund raising event.

Texas Hold-Em - Phil Resparc will organize a new event at Sleepy Hollow currently set for October 19th. Volunteer help is needed - please contact Phil for details.

Concessions - Following last year's very successful concession stand results. Linda Hagen is coordinating the concession stand crews and events. There are still some volunteer openings for soccer games but all Friday football games are already staffed!! The Boosters purchased two propane grills this year to help promote more hamburger and hot dog sales during the fall sports season.

Home Game Ticket Sales - Star Sports will be selling advanced ticket sales again this year. All Team Reps are encouraged to inform their team's parents of this option to help avoid long lines at the ticket counter on actual game days.

  9. New Business

No new business items were discussed.

  10. Adjournment

The meeting was adjourned at 8:23 p.m.

The next BEE Athletic Boosters meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 10, 2007 at the High School Media Center.
