Secretary's Report:

Membership Report:
We currently have 9 Faculty, 16 Standard, 22 Gold, and 50 Platinum memberships.
This gives us approx. $15,635 in fees. Jane will e-mail a list of current
members to the team reps so they can follow up with their teams and to get more
to join or past members to rejoin.
Treasurer's Report:
Cash balance is $60,217.25. Much of this amount is already allocated for
various things. Balance left on the NCB loan is $20,936.72.
Approx. $15,000 is covered by pledges outstanding and soon due.
Committee Reports:
Silent Auction/Reverse Raffle:
Jim Tricomi reported that Lori Donner will
be the new chairperson replacing Diane Pollock. Jim, Diane, and Lori will meet
soon to get Lori up to date on what all is involved in this event. We are also
looking for a co-chair for Lori. We need someone who can keep the list of
silent auction contacts-who has donated in the past, what has been donated,
phone numbers, contact names, etc. The commitment time for this person would be
about 4 hours a week. The event will take place on March 19, 2005 at St. Paul
Hellenic Hall.
Team Rep Reports:
- Volleyball - JV 8-2; 9th 7-4; 8th lost 1 match; 7th undefeated.
Sarah Glosik tournament is Oct 23.
- Boys Soccer - Varsity 6-3-2 (3-0 in PC); JVA 2-3; JVB 3-3

- Football - Varsity 3-3 (1-0 in Heritage Div); JV 5-1; 9th 3-3;
8th undefeated
- Cheerleading - Last Sat. the girls held a cheer clinic for the
elementary schools as a fundraiser. The elementary kids will cheer this
Fri. night at the game.
- Tennis - Varsity 10-1 in PC. Won the Heritage Div. Sectionals
start Thurs. JV won the Brush Invitational. Almost went undefeated.
- Hockey - "Captains Ice" just started. 28 are on the team including
2 girls. A fundraiser will be held at Quotes on Nov. 5. Hockey is a
self-sufficient team. Larry again thanked BAB and the Athletic Dept for
their support. Games are held at the Metroplex.
- Wrestling - Open mats started today. There will be a tournament
in Lock Haven, Pa. at the end of the month.
Jim Tricomi brought up the question of what else team reps can do. Discussion
followed with the following suggestions: report back with the number of members
per team, have team reps distribute letters to team parents to encourage
membership, send reminder notes to team reps on the Friday before our Monday
meetings.
Several suggestions for boosting membership were discussed. These included
pro-rated membership for the winter season, a membership level that did not
include admission to the game or event, and having a table at the golf outing
for membership signups. Jim Tricomi is to e-mail a suggested letter to team reps.
Allocation Requests:
Bowling Team:
$600 for line fees
SWARM:
$98.56 for refill/exchange of helium tank
Athletic Director Reports:
High School:
Dan Kalinsky reported that the girls tennis team won the
Heritage Division of the PC. Basketball tryouts for girls will start
on Oct.25. The girls soccer team is ranked 7th in Ohio. PewWee
football teams will be recognized this Friday night at the varsity game.
He also wants to form a facility committee that would assess our facilities
and come up with a plan for fixing, maintaining or building. The committee
would also prioritize the projects.
Middle School:
Maria Schneider stated that fall sports are winding down.
Basketball tryouts will not start until football is over. She is planning
to write an article for the alumni newsletter to encourage alumni to join
the Boosters.
Other Business:
Joe Kosek brought up the idea (Model Experiment) of overseeing the fundraising
that the various teams are doing so that they don't cannibalize each other.
With cooperation, all teams can do fundraising without hurting the efforts of
other teams. He also commented on the suggestion that was brought up several
months ago for a building near the current batting cages that would be used for
training for softball, baseball and perhaps golf and tennis. It would free up
some gym space. Funding would come from an outside source, not the Boosters.
The Boosters could act as a liaison between the High School and the community.
This would be a good thing for the facility committee to help plan.
Bill Miko presented a fund raising idea for the Boosters. He could develop a
web site to sell Bee apparel and hard goods. 10% of the sales would go to the
Boosters. There would be a one time set up charge of $1500. Gilmour and
Normandy have started web sites. Next month Bill will bring data from their
sales and also a demo of the web site. There was some concern about the effect
of the web site on Home Team Sports store at the Brecksville Shopping Center.
Sharon Foster brought up the question of the tennis courts. Both communities,
the schools and the Boosters should be involved in resolving this issue.
Also the tennis parents need to be involved. Dan was not present to add what
he had come up with since the last meeting.
The diving board question was again brought up. After the last meeting, Dan
was to talk to the Brecksville Rec Committee. Dan was not present to respond
to this question.
Jim Ticomi had an idea of doing a newsletter and having a link for it on the
High School web site. We should also have major events publicized on BEE-TV.
Charlie Towne could also put the minutes on the web site.
Charmagne Cimaglia made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded and passed.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM
